Shoprider TrailBlazer 889SL/SE
The quick one. Two horsepower through a two speed delta tiller, 13.5 in wheels at all four corners and a 350 lb rating.
Full measurements
Every number, in one place.
Shoprider's own published specification for the 889SL/SE.
The tiller
Two speeds, and where the low one earns its keep.
One switch gives you two power bands. The same machine crawls through a shop aisle, then covers open ground at 13.5 km/h. Most scooters give you one.
- ✓2.0 hp, high and lowTwo power bands from one switch, changed without stopping
- ✓The quickest Shoprider we carry13.5 km/h on the open stretch, walking pace indoors
- ✓A delta tiller, not a pair of handlebarsYou push a horseshoe bar with the heel of your hand rather than gripping and twisting
iWhy the delta shape matters. You work it with an open hand and a light push, so it suits tired hands, a weak grip or sore wrists.

The delta tiller. Both thumbs rest on the bar, and the high and low switch sits where you can reach it without stopping.
One charge
Up to 40 km on a full charge.
Two 50 Ah batteries, charged overnight from an ordinary wall socket with the 5 A charger in the box. Hills, cold weather and a heavier load shorten it, the same as on any scooter.
Outside, and where you keep it
Park it, plug it in, ride it out.
At 246 lb this is a full size outdoor machine. It lives where you park it, and it travels by ramp and van rather than in the back of a car.
- ✓49 in long, 24.5 in wideHold that width against your gate and your garage door
- ✓Climbs a 15 percent slopeAlmost double what a wheelchair ramp is built to
- ✓13.5 in wheels and full suspensionThe biggest wheels we stock, so ruts and curb lips are met high on the wheel instead of stopping you
It comes by doorstep delivery, the same as anything else this size. If it has to travel by car after that, the Spirit GK-10 is the one built to come apart.
Built to fit
Four add ons that suit this scooter.
All four are Shoprider parts we stock. Three mount to the seat plate, and the windscreen is moulded to fit this tiller.
Moulded for a full delta tiller. It sends the wind up and over your hands and chest instead of into them.
Height adjustable, water resistant, and it bolts to the seat plate. Sun off you in July, drizzle off you in October.
Seat plate mount that holds a cylinder up to 4.5 in across upright and steady.
The version that needs no canopy above it. Folds flat when you are not carrying anything.
Already fitted. Eclipse ships the TrailBlazer with its full light package and two mirrors on it, so neither is repeated above.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The TrailBlazer is built for people who want real outdoor performance, longer trips, uneven ground and stable handling at higher speeds. With a 2.0 HP motor, 13.5 inch pneumatic tires and full front and rear suspension, it handles real world conditions confidently.
-
The Special Edition is the higher performance version. It runs a 2.0 HP two-speed motor against the standard 889SL's 1.2 HP, 13.5 inch tires against 12.5 inch, and a top speed of 13.5 km/h against 12 km/h. Both share the same frame, the same 350 lb capacity, 40 km range and full suspension. The scooter on this page is the Special Edition.
-
The TrailBlazer reaches 13.5 km/h with high and low speed settings, and offers up to 40 km of range per charge. Real world range depends on terrain, rider weight, temperature and battery age, so plan for less than the rated figure on hills or in cold weather.
-
Yes. The captain's seat, padded armrests and full front and rear suspension smooth out rough pavement, and the 13.5 inch pneumatic tires absorb far more than a smaller solid tire. The delta tiller also keeps steering and controls intuitive on longer rides.
