At a glance
Shoprider Chameleon GK-84
The small one. Ninety four pounds all in, a 37 in turning radius, and three sets of colour panels in the box rather than one.
Indoors
It turns inside 37 in and fits through the door.
Two numbers decide whether a scooter comes inside with you or waits by the step: how wide it is, and how tightly it turns. This is the tightest arc in the Shoprider line.
- ✓Turning radius 37 inA kitchen, a hallway, an elevator and a store aisle are all wider than that.
- ✓21.5 in across the bodyMore than ten inches under the 32 in doorway most Canadian homes are built to.
- ✓35 in tallLow enough to see over, and to park under a counter or a coat rail.
- ✓39 in longShort enough to park in a hallway rather than a garage.

The front end. Seven inch wheels under a narrow nose, which is what lets it turn inside 37 in.
One charge
Fourteen kilometres on a full charge.
Two 12 Ah batteries give 14 km. That is the maximum, so the weight on board, the ground under you and the cold all take a share. It fills back up overnight from a normal wall socket, using the 2 A charger in the box.
iWhat 14 km buys you. It is a round trip of seven kilometres. That covers the shops, the pharmacy, the coffee place and the way home with room to spare.
What it will take on
Six degrees is a gentle slope, not a hill.
The safe climbing angle is 6 degrees, which is 10 percent. Access ramps are normally built to one in twelve, roughly 8 percent, so a proper ramp sits well inside it. A steep driveway does not.
- ✓Climbs 6 degrees, 10 percentSafe climbing angle for this frame.
- ✓Flat free tires, 7 in front and 8 in rearNothing to pump up and nothing to puncture.
- ✓Top speed 6 km/h from a 0.5 hp motorAbout a brisk walking pace, which is what you want on a store floor.
- ✓Rated to 250 lbUser weight limit for this frame.
What you are handling
Ninety four pounds, and panels you swap yourself.
This is the lightest of the five Shoprider scooters we carry. The chassis is built with no connectors at all, so it separates without a single cable to unplug.
- ✓94 lb with the batteries inTotal weight for the complete scooter.
- ✓A chassis with no connectorsNothing to unplug when it comes apart.
- ✓Three panel sets, all in the boxRed, blue and champagne, changed by hand in seconds.

The champagne panels. Red and blue come in the same box, so it changes colour with no part to order and no fee to pay.
