Frequently Asked Questions
-
The GB148 is the 4-wheel version of the Buzzaround EX. Golden also makes a 3-wheel version (GB118) of the same model. The 4-wheel is more stable on uneven outdoor terrain, curb cuts, and gravel, while the 3-wheel has a tighter turning radius. If you're using it mostly outdoors or want maximum stability, choose this 4-wheel GB148.

The Buzzaround EX uses two U1 batteries that disconnect wirelessly, so there are no plugs or cables to fiddle with. You lift each pack straight out of the rear well and carry it inside to charge. Each pack weighs about 24 lb. It's a major upgrade over older scooters where you had to disconnect cables every time.
-
Yes. The Buzzaround EX disassembles into 6 pieces in 4 quick steps, no tools required. The front section is the heaviest piece at 53 lb, so some people will want a second set of hands when loading it. The battery packs (24 lb each) and the seat (23 lb) lift out separately to keep each piece manageable.
-
It fits through standard doorways. At 22 inches wide, the GB148 passes through interior doorways with room to spare. Keep the 54 inch turning radius in mind though. This is a full size portable scooter, so tight hallway corners and small rooms take more maneuvering than a compact model. If most of your driving is indoors, a tighter turning scooter like the Travel Buggy HELIX is the easier fit.

The EX is built for road trips and car travel rather than flying. It uses two U1 sealed lead acid batteries and weighs 161 lb assembled, so it is not the right scooter for air travel. If you fly often, look at the Buzzaround CarryOn, which folds flat and uses a lithium ion battery that Golden markets as airline friendly. Always confirm battery rules with your airline before you book.
