Drive Medical Extra Long Non Slip Bath Mat
A mat helps where it lies flat and grips. The part of your tub that qualifies is shorter than the tub, and it is worth knowing which part.
Start here
Measure the flat bottom of your tub.
The ends of a bathtub curve upward, and a suction cup on a curve is a suction cup that is not holding. So the length to take is the flat run, not the whole tub, and the two are rarely the same.
- 1Empty the tub and dry itA wet surface makes the tape slide and the reading drift
- 2Find where the floor stops being flatRun a hand along the bottom towards each end until you feel it start to rise
- 3Measure between those two pointsFlat floor only, end to end, with the tape lying on the surface
- 4Note where the drain sitsWhich end it is at, and how far in from that end
- ✓35.5 in longLength for model 12950
- ✓Contour cut to fit around the drainDrive publish the shaped end that clears the drain
Drive publish a length row and no width row for this model, so the length is the figure to plan against.
The drain end is the end that does the work. Drive shape one end of the mat to sit around the drain, which is what lets the mat run the full length of a flat floor instead of stopping short of it. Line that end up with your drain first and the rest of the mat falls where it should.
iLay it out before you fill the tub. Press it down along the whole length with a dry hand, then run your palm back across it. Any cup that has not sealed lifts under your hand, and pressing that one spot again is the whole of the fix.
After it is yours
Ninety days, and Drive say so plainly.
Drive put a Limited 90 Day warranty on this mat, model 12950. That is shorter than the lifetime term they put on their frames and benches. It is the term they publish for this product, so it is the term we print.
- ✓Limited 90 Day, in Drive's own wordsPrinted on the warranty row against model 12950
- ✓Weight capacity, unlimitedCapacity row for this mat, which is unusual enough to be worth saying out loud
- ✓Rolls up for storageDrive publish it on the feature list, so the mat does not have to live in the tub between baths
We print short terms as readily as long ones. A maker who publishes ninety days has told you something useful about the product, and stretching that to match the rest of a range would help nobody.
iWorth keeping: your Care Made order confirmation. A dated term needs a date, and that email is the one that carries it along with the model number. Keep it somewhere you can find it and there is nothing else for you to do.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The mat features a high-density pattern of multiple suction cups on the underside. These cups create a powerful vacuum seal to the bottom of your tub or shower, ensuring the mat stays firmly in place even when the surface is wet and soapy.
-
Yes. The mat is made of a soft, high-quality rubber material with a contoured, textured surface. This provides excellent "non-slip" traction for your feet while remaining comfortable enough for use during a long soak in the tub.
-
The mat is 35.5 inches long, so it covers almost the full floor of a standard bathtub. One end is contour cut to sit neatly around the drain, which keeps the water running away freely. Measure the flat bottom of your tub from end to end and you will know exactly how much of it the mat will cover.
-
The mat is designed with small drainage holes to allow water to circulate and dry effectively. For the best hygiene, we recommend lifting the mat after each use to let the underside air dry. It can be easily cleaned with mild soap and water or a standard bathroom disinfectant.
-
Like most suction-cup products, this mat is designed for use on smooth, non-porous surfaces. It may not adhere correctly to heavily textured or "pebbled" tile floors, or tubs that have been professionally refinished with a non-slip coating.
